I had a hefty list of expectations for myself this weekend...so how did I do?
-taking myself on a date: movie and Target
I was ready to head out yesterday to catch a matinee, but at the last minute I decided I just didn't want to go run around in the rain. I traded this for a nap with my furry little pal, and got my movie fix with The King's Speech OnDemand (and it helps me with #109 on my Life List -- bonus points!
-manicure and pedicure
I am currently sporting a couple of lovely coats of Mademoiselle on my fingers; didn't have time for the pedicure, so maybe next weekend. We have to see pedicure weather in NYC eventually, right?
Always a classic. Making my not-pretty nails look pretty since...forever! |
-getting some good workouts in
Yup!
-making my blog prettier
Check! Well, at least I think so. I'm still tinkering a little, but I am pretty pleased with what I've been able to do. I know NOTHING about html coding, so even doing simple things like changing fonts is a big challenge. I may or may not have let out a great whoop when I finally figured out how to increase the font size of my header.
-a good nap to two
Ah...yes!
-restocking my fridge with a trip to Trader Joe's
Yup!
-delivery from a yummy restaurant
I think it was on its way when I wrote this, so...yes!
-catching up on my favorite blogs
Always
-Easter dinner with my super cute family
Yay - even got a visit from the Easter Bunny! (Not planned: losing my phone on the LIRR. Ugh.)
And there were a few more things that helped make this a great weekend:
-I signed up for an online photography class at Nicole's Classes -- I think this one is called "you spent $1K on a fancy camera, you should probably know how to use it". SO excited about this! I think I have some good ideas about composition, but I really need to know a lot more about the various settings to make my pictures look better (at least until I get an iPhone and just take all of my photos using Hipstamatic -- love those!).
-Fresh flowers from Trader Joe's -- they make my home so happy!
Ranunculus are my favorite thing! My second favorite thing? A pop of yellow in a room. Check and check! |
-Loading up on good reading material from mom's house -- she has tons of magazine subscriptions, and she lent me a book I've been dying to get my hands on: Sweet Valley Confidential. It is silly, I know...but I don't care! I don't read a lot of chick lit (I leave that to my brother; he's Team Jacob, in case you were wondering), but I LOVED the Wakefield twins and read all of the Sweet Valley books in middle school. Elizabeth was my favorite -- can't wait to see what has happened! I hear the book is a bit scandalous. Sweet Valley of the Dolls?
-I picked up one of my favorite candles: Capri Blue - Volcano. It now comes in a pretty mercury glass jar! (Maybe this is not new -- my last candle lasted forever). This is one of my favorite indulgences, I just love the deep, citrus-y scent. Also, it makes all of my clothes smell like they came from Anthropologie, making me love my wardrobe that much more!

So there you have it, a pretty nice 3-day weekend. I'm ready to start the week -- how about you?
Sounds like the perfect weekend to me!

Thanks! Sometimes a long weekend goes by in a flash and I barely even remember what I did. It was nice to get in a good mix of fun/productivity and generally enjoy a little time off.
