To Judge Judy, With Love
**A little side note: I don't remember this, but my mom tells me that I used to like watching the People's Court when I was very little. In fact, I told her that I should have my own show called Ali Decides. I was quite a bossy toddler!
Today, I share with you life lessons learned from the Honorable Judge Judy Scheindlin:
1. Don't co-sign on a loan for anyone
Unless you can pay off that loan and can afford to lose that money, just don't.
2. "Um" is not an answer
Have something to say, or don't open your mouth. "Ummmm...." is a waste of breath.
3. Don't co-sign on a loan for anyone
They will promise to make the payments, but they will not.
4. Put on your listening ears
God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason, you need to listen twice and talk once.
5. Don't co-sign on a loan for anyone
If your man needs you to co-sign for him, he's probably a bum and will screw you over.
6. You can't modify a written contract with an oral agreement
Hey, a free legal education -- thanks for saving me $100K, JJ!
7. Don't co-sign on a loan for anyone
They probably have bad credit; soon, you will too.
8. Make eye contact
Otherwise you look like a totally shady character, even if you're telling the truth.
9. Don't co-sign a loan for anyone
10. Tell the truth
Or you better have a really good memory. But, better to just tell the truth.
And if all that isn't enough, the geniuses at Paralegal put together this adorable infographic outlining all of the ways Judge Judy is kicking ass and taking names. She is smart, she works hard, she brings home the bacon, and she can fry it up! (Just don't try to friend her on Facebook -- she doesn't "do those machines"). A wonderful role model and a great personality -- Judge Judy is like no other. She may wish she was taller, but Judge Judy, you are perfect just the way you are!
